ACTFL recommends, “that language educators and their students use the target language as exclusively as possible (90% plus) at all levels of instruction." However, it is a challenge for many teachers to reach 90% target language use for a variety of reasons. The presenter is interested in opening a discussion, based on a pilot research project, about how we can study and inform this phenomenon. How do we measure success? What strategies best support our efforts?
